DoWEA Announces State Winners for the Presidential AI Challenge
In April 2025, an executive order directed the establishment of the Presidential AI Challenge to expand artificial intelligence education for America’s youth. DoWEA is proud to recognize 2026 Presidential AI Challenge State Champion teams in nine DoWEA schools.

Pre-K Students Explore Science Through Bubble-Freezing Experiment
Pre-K students at Spangdahlem Elementary School recently took part in a hands-on science experiment designed to explore a simple but engaging question: Can bubbles freeze? Using the scientific process, students practiced inquiry-based learning by making predictions, observing outcomes, and reflecting on results, reinforcing early science skills in an age-appropriate and engaging way.
Spangdahlem Third Graders Take Flight with Parachute Design Challenge
Students at Spangdahlem Elementary recently soared into science with an exciting hands-on engineering challenge: designing parachutes that could land on an “X.”
