Construction is progressing on the new two-story Spangdahlem Elementary School, set to accommodate around 670 students. The project is scheduled for completion in 2027 and is located on Spangdahlem Air Base. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Europe District, is overseeing the project in collaboration with the U.S. Air Force, the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), and German construction partners.

This new school is part of a larger initiative aimed at improving the quality of life for military families stationed in Europe. The effort includes the construction of new educational facilities across Germany and Belgium, with 17 schools already completed as part of a $2.1 billion investment.

The new Spangdahlem Elementary School will serve children from kindergarten through fifth grade, offering a modern and well-equipped learning environment tailored to the needs of military families.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is also overseeing several other school construction projects across Europe, reflecting a broader commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure for military children abroad.
